The Permeability Meter can be used for determining the permeability of AFS (imperial) or DIN (metric) test specimens in accordance with British and AFS standard specifications. The body of the permeability meter is a strong aluminium casting consisting of a water tank and base. Inside the water tank floats a balanced air bell which is calibrated to deliver two litres of air at a constant pressure of 10 cm water.
An expanding ‘O’ ring is used to form an airtight seal between the centre post and the specimen tube. Each meter is supplied with two standard orifices for rapid determination of permeability.
